Interview Tips - Audit Senior

For an Audit Senior interview, most firms will be interested in seeing/ hearing about your experience to date (the type of clients etc), technical knowledge (IFRS etc) and competency for the role (strengths and weaknesses).

Knowing your clients

  • Industries
  • Description of the client’s business activities
  • Client Turnovers
  • Balance sheet totals

Audit process

Going into detail in terms of your knowledge of the audit process and being clear as to what your role is (pick a client)

  • Planning
  • Fieldwork
  • Completion
  • Examples about the specific risks found and the way to test some of the audit assertions

Competency questions

  • Time management
  • How you might delegate to trainees?
  • How you might communicate findings with a client?
  • Systems you have used?

Why are you interviewing here

  • Knowledge of the firm?
  • Get to know their client base?
  • Questions prepared for them?
